My Nike roshe runners! I'd been looking to replace the pair that I got during high school (that tells you just how much exercise I do, right) for a while but oh man, there are so many options! People in shops would ask me how many high intensity and low intensity work-outs I did per week ("...one"), the structure of my foot, my gym routine - all with the best intentions - but it became so confusing. Then I saw Jessie's rave review on these Nikes and so decided to give them a go when I saw them in a store the next day. The rest is history.

When I saw these shoes at H&M on Hollywood Boulevard, I immediately knew that they were mine. They were colourful, bold and striped - I simply could not wait to wear them with some contrasting socks underneath. They also turned out to be very lightweight, and thus became one of the comfiest pairs of shoes I've ever owned (so much so that I once wore them to the library). Along with my Le Freak pair, these shoes were my dependable go-to's. They were with me the very first time I danced in a nightclub, and many a times after, always ensuring my comfort. But alas, despite ignoring the deterioration of the soles, when the zipper got stuck and split, leaving me with no choice but to literally cut the shoe off my foot (see severed straps), I had to face the fact that the shoes had hit retirement.

I first saw these shoes in New York in February 2011 and after mustering the courage to buy them, fate had it that my size was out of stock. When the Zara store opened in Australia they reappeared, however this time fate would have it that they were too dear. Ten months after I first spotted them in another country and missed my second chance back in Sydney, they appeared once more - one pair left, in my size, and on sale *cue singing angels*
